Is if bad when we are already thinking, "where has this year gone" at the end of February?
So either I forget to take my camera to all of our exciting events, or there have not been very many exiting events. This is all I could come up with:
Saturday is a Special Day
Gabby and Parker were still trying to enjoy the snow instead of cursing it as I have been doing. They built their own personal snowmen to stay busy as Randy and I worked on the attic one Saturday.

Gabby (age 6)

Parker (age 4)

Yes, I am working. I do love to tile though! Just a note, I got such a good deal on the tile for the upstairs bathroom that I was willing to spend a little more to get a good looking tile for the floor of the shower. The only problem was, I couldn't find one that matched as well as I thought it should. I decided the best solution would be to create my own small tiles. Lots of time cutting little squares... That does mean that they aren't attached with mesh though, so my lines aren't perfect. Or maybe I should just call it a "custom tile job." That sounds better.

The almost-finished product. Grout always makes it look better.
Boxes of Fun
With all of the cold weather outside my kids have come up with some new games to pass the time. With some extra boxes floating around the house they had to put those to good use. We have had a few box houses hanging around, which is always fun. The latest was made from a toilet box. (Only the best for my kids.) The other boxes were smaller so could be used for tables and chairs. What a party...snacks and all.

Oh, and before we eat we must pray:

This is true to prayer time at our house. Parker has to watch so see who has their eyes open, and Joshua is folding his arms. When we ask Joshua to fold his arms, he leans his head to his shoulder. We are pretty sure he knows what his arms are, but we usually just get a head to the shoulder. Close enough!
Homemaker Mom Shares her Skills
Grandma Cooper does know how to sew, and she tried her best to teach her kids. Some of my sister are great seamstresses, but I just didn't ever quite get it. Sometimes I forget, and try a sewing project just for fun. Being the amazing room-mom I am, I decided to make a quilt for Gabby's teacher for Teacher Appreciation week. All the 1st graders in her class drew some great pictures on squares of fabric. I then sewed it all together to make a lovely quilt. Thankfully my mom jumped in to help. Finishing the edges were getting the worst of me. After unpicking a side four times, my mom taught me how to pin first, and then we made a trade. I may have gotten the best end of the deal. The quilt turned out great, if I can say so myself. Too bad I forgot the camera...
This whole project got Gabby interested, and I decided I could show her how to sew. Straight lines can't be that hard, right? It was much harder for me than for Gabby. I am so proud my six-year-old is smart enough to only take the good out of the things I teach her. Her quilt isn't finished yet, but the top looks great. We will get it tied someday.

One more thing for the list of "things we will get done when the attic is finished!"
