Spring Break 2009 (Part IV)

Let's finish this trip up...and yes, I do realize it is June and I am still posting April. That's just how fast I am.

Sea World
Because we only had one day at Sea World we hit all the shows. We skipped the rides because we didn't expect them anyway, and the lines were too long. The shows were entertaining, and by sitting in or near the splash zone we kept the kids interested.Gabby & ParkerJoshua enjoying the show and something else?! Petting and feeding the sting ray. The kids also played with star fish which was pretty cool too.

San Diego Zoo
The zoo was our last stop. We were excited yet tired from all the happenings of the trip. It was a great zoo and we got to see some animals that our kids have never seen in person. However, the animal statues and paintings seemed to draw the most attention.
There was a little petting zoo that Joshua especial got a kick out of. He has a much greater love for animals that Gabby and Parker. The grand attraction was the panda bear exhibit. There are two pandas, a male and a female at the zoo. They live separately because that's how they like it. They did however have their annual mating opportunity the day before. It was hilarious to hear the zookeeper share this bit of information. She said, "pandas are a lot like people. Female pandas are very picky and will only mate if they are truly interested in the male. Male pandas will mate with any female." I had to laugh. Of course the humor was lost on my kids. Probably a good thing.
