Oh, What Do You Do in the Summertime?

Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you swim in a pool, to keep yourself cool, or swing in a tree up high?
Is that what you do? So do I!

Gabby, Parker and Joshua have taken a few sessions of swim lessons this summer. They are all improving greatly and becoming more and more confident in the pool. We have had a few of our friends in swim lessons with us. It makes it even more fun. (Eun Jae, , Parker, Gavin, Henry, Gabby & Joshua)(Parker after one of his great jumps off of the diving board)
(Joshua enjoying a motor boat ride from his teacher) (Joshua completing the "Chop, Chop, Timber" game)
(Eun Jae and Gabby just happy to be together!)

Oh, what do you do in the summertime, when all the world is green?
Do you march in parades, or drink lemonades, or count all the stars in the sky?
Is that what you do? So do I!
Our stake had the opportunity to participate in the Days of '47 Youth Parade. We were able to help build the float, dress up in pioneer attire and walk in the parade. The kids had a great time, and I think I even enjoyed it more than they did.
(Part of the stake just before heading off for our walk.)
(Joshua, Gabby and Parker, our little pioneer children.)(Parker "the missionary" on the float.)(Gabby "being like Jesus.")(Joshua at his happiest point.)
He fell asleep about two blocks into the walk. It's a good thing his pioneer mom is strong enough to carry him! I lasted a few blocks, but I can't imagine carrying him for miles and miles and miles, day after day after day.
After the parade, they had a festival for the participants. The kids got to build things out of wood with the help from the Home Depot crew. Gabby built a birdhouse, Parker built a tool box and Joshua got the last helicopter.Another big hit was the face painting. This is a first for my kids.
Gabby's beautiful flower to accentuate her already beautiful face.Parker, the snake man.And the ever-so-patient Joshua as Spiderman. He was so still while they were painting his face. People walking by commented that he looked like he was sleeping. If only he was that still during church!
